The #rp17 schedule is here!

Is it already that time of year again? Yes! Only just a few weeks now and the 11th re:publica opens its doors. We’re betting on great weather and have put together quite the fantastic programme package for you, if we don’t say so ourselves. Why not take a look, because: the schedule for the #rp17 is here!

Time has just flown by. The first ideas from the Call for Participation reached us in the deep grey of November last year. Enthusiastic talks dealing with our Love Out Loud motto were among them, as were incisive suggestions for political panels and philosophical analyses of the times we live in. We received over 1,000 submissions up until our final deadline at the end of January – more than ever before. The programme team and the independent programme committee read through every single idea and weighed them up carefully.

We have curated a programme out of the ideas from the community, the invited speakers and our partner contributions – a programme which highlights the current debates in net culture, questions societal shifts and allows us to share our knowledge and expertise with one another.

We are proud and excited to now be able to present you the timetable for the re:publica 2017. 19 stages and workshop rooms are filled with over 400 lectures, discussions and interviews. Stage 1 will feature contemporary thinkers holding keynotes on various areas of interest.  Over the course of three days, Stages 6 and 7 will be home to the MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin. Just like last year, the communicative Lightning Talk and Meet-up formats will have their place in the Networking Area. The labore:tory will be taking it one step further. The experimental space will feature two stages this year, focusing on topics surrounding music, cultural policies, art technologies, visions from science fiction, artificial intelligence, as well as virtual and mixed reality.

With all that talking, we want to make sure to not lose our sense of humour. The last sessions of the day always take the topics at hand and shine a comedic light on them. You can also head away from the stages to check out what the location and colourful supporting programme have to offer. We’ve prepared installations and participatory activities for you, and for anyone who still can’t tear themselves away from the community late in the evening, we’d like to recommend our fantastic evening programme with karaoke, DJs and bands.

We’ll also have the re:publica apps again this year, to help you keep an overview and make sure that the extensive programme is available wherever you are – always up-to-date and within arm’s reach. More on that soon. Stay tuned!

So start planning. Pick out your favourite sessions and put together the perfect three days, arrange to meet with friends, share the sessions that you’re going to visit online and expand your networks.

This way for the re:publica 2017 timetable. We look forward to seeing you there: LOVE OUT LOUD!
