It’s nearly spring!

The temperatures are rising and Berlin’s digital & creative season is slowly starting to put its feelers out again. Just like last year, we’d like to recommend our collective event platform spring berlin: where we present you select events from Berlin’s digital creative industry and cultural sector.

spring berlin gathers Berlin events happening between April and June 2017 for visitors looking to explore the city. The event network is a showcase for interdisciplinary events and mirrors the creative diversity of the city: whether it’s digital, design or music, spring in Berlin offers unique festivals, conferences and meet-ups for a diverse audience.

Here’s a first, small preview of the various events happening in the city in spring: Berlin’s second biggest film festival, achtung berlin (19th to 26th April), will be taking place for the 13th time this year. The festival shows films, documentaries and short films that were either partially or completely produced in Berlin and Brandenburg. The creativity of the local film scene is the focus here and attracts both local and international audiences.

The Pictoplasma character design conference (10th to 14th May) offers guests a journey into the world of character design. Pictoplasma is the meeting point for animation artists, illustrators, graphic designers and their fans. Visitors can marvel at the animated art and design and discuss the many ways in which animated characters captivate their audience.

Two further events focus on the digital economy: the media:net berlinbrandenburg network’s Investors' Dinner (28th April) brings together 24 startups and twelve selected leading investors. Tech startups are thereby connected with potential financial backers who can then give their ideas the needed financial boost. The month of May then begins with the #unit Festival (6th May). Now in its third edition, it is the first queer tech event. Organized by the UNICORNS IN TECH, its focus is on creating visibility for LGBTI people and their visions within the tech scene, as well as connecting the community itself. And, last but not least, the Karneval der Kulturen (Carnival of Cultures) will be making its way through Kreuzberg (2nd to 5th June) with its annual celebration of Berlin’s cultural diversity, featuring a parade and a weekend-long street festival.

Of course, you can find all the events and more detailed information on the individual events at: spring berlin. Stop by and let yourself be inspired for spring!
