Come Join in! The #rp17 Community Corner

After the Love Out Loud! motto flooded the social networks and, hopefully, your #rp17 calendars as well, it's finally going to be time to get down to the nitty gritty during the three conference days. Many of the talks and discussions will inspire you to get engaged and get things going yourself. The Community Corner in the labore:tory is there for anyone who's still looking for the necessary contacts and advice.

We've already told you about our Love Out Loud! panels. Our LoL initiatives will be on-site in the Community Corner to take time for you. Small workshops and Q&A sessions allow you to get to know them better, talk to them about their methods or learn how you yourself can organise a campaign for refugees, diversity or against hate speech.

Maybe you already have an idea of how you would like to get involved, or you've already gotten started with your own project? There are still a couple free timeslots that you could use in the Community Corner. If you're interested, then just find the bulletin board and reserve a slot! The Community Corner is located on the 3rd floor of the labore:tory (in the Kühlhaus).

The Community Corner programme:

Monday, 8 May 2017

16 Uhr Heart of Code: Cryptoparty for starlets! The girls from the Berlin hackerspace will help you encrypt your communication. Bring your devices along and you're as good as gold.

18 Uhr Konfetti: The designers of the Konfetti app will show you how you can support your neighbourhood and solidarity through technology, and introduce more social responsibility in companies.

Tuesday, 9 May 2017

10:00 Adopt a Revolution: The German-Syrian initiative will be giving insights into their work. But there's much more: Following the decision by the UN general assembly to prosecute war crimes in Syria, there are still four million Dollars missing to implement this. How can this money be collected and how will it get to the UN? Help out finding answers!

12:00 Flüchtlinge Willkommen (Refugees Welcome): The creators of the online platform give insights into how hatred can be prevented with love and which projects they've already tried this out with. Among them: Pfandgeben.de, "Flüchtlinge Willkommen", Fluchthelfer.in and "Search racism. Find truth". You will have plenty of time to ask questions and make future plans together.

14:00 Random Hacks of Kindness (RhoK): Help create useful technologies for humanity. The RhoK initiative will show you a couple basic mechanisms for successful and useful hacking.

16:00 No Hate Speech Campaign: The ladies from the No Hate Speech Campaign will show how you can become part of the No Hate Speech movement. But they haven't just come to discuss and answer questions, they'll also be helping you shape your first statement against hate speech. <3

18:00 Wefugees: The online community wants to help refugees shape their own integration process as creatively as possible. The creators will be telling you all about how that is done and how you can participate. Material in Arabic and Farsi is available!
