Bassant Helmi is the co-Chair of the Digital Arabia Network (#DAN). #DAN is the lab for the digital future of the Arab World. It connects the leading and creative digital innovators who are contributing to the transformation of the lives of the millions in the region to the better in all spheres: in arts, culture, education, business, economy and politics.  She is also the Founder and Managing Director of the Berlin-based non-profit organisation Global Project Partners, started in 2001 and which has grown over the years implementing a wide range of projects specifically geared towards supporting Arab businesswomen, vocational and educational training in developing countries, and knowledge transfer in the field of renewable energies. In 2017, she co-initiated the Digital Arabia Network (#DAN).

She is a member of numerous associations and institutions in the MENA region and a member of the Advisory Board of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce.  As a German of Egyptian origin, she is uniquely qualified for building bridges of cooperation and mutual understanding between Germany and the MENA region.
