Isabel Skierka

Isabel Skierka is a researcher with the Digital Society Institute at ESMT Berlin and a PhD candidate at Tallinn University of Technology in Estonia. 
In her work, she focuses on the governance of IT security, as well as digital policy in Germany and Europe, e-governance and public sector innovation.
Isabel is also a non-resident fellow at the Berlin-based think tank Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), a member of the recently established "Netzwerk Technologie und Gesellschaft", and served as a next generation member of the Internet Governance Forum Germany’s steering committee. Beyond her professional and academic activities, she is a regular contributor to the public debate on digitization and cybersecurity and has testified at German parliament. Prior to joining ESMT, Isabel worked at GPPi, NATO, at the European Commission’s DG Connect, and at the Institute of Computer Science of the Free University of Berlin. She holds degrees in political science and international security.
